Boil the potatoes until fork tender, drain and set aside. Add onion, split peas, veggie broth, garlic, curry paste, and enough water to completely cover and bring to a boil. Once boiling cover with a tilted lid, reduce heat and simmer for about 25 minutes.Add in the potatoes and add more water if needed. Recover and cook for about 20 more minutes.
