Heat over medium heat. Add onion, and cook until translucent.2) Add carrots to pot. Cook and stir until carrots get soft. Add chickpeas, raise heat to medium high, and cook until chickpeas begin to pop and get a little browned. Reduce heat back to medium.3) Add garlic, basil and oregano, cook just for a moment or two. Add tomatoes, broth, and bay leaves. Stir well, and then bring to a boil. Reduce heat, and simmer for 20 minutes. 4) Turn off heat, and remove as many tomatoes as possible. Puree and return to pot. Pull about 2 cups of solids and broth from the pot, puree and return to pot. 5) Add wine, stir well, remove bay leaves and serve.
