3/4 cup brewed coffee (or 2 tbsp instant mixed into 3/4 cup hot water)
1/3 cup tomato sauce
3 Tbsp soy sauce
2 Tbsp lemon juice
2 Tbsp wine vinegar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 1/2 lbs tofu cut into slices (can also be made with 8 chicken breasts, halved and skinned)


How Do I Make Coffee Tofu?

Here is how you make Coffee Tofu:

Mix the coffee, tomato sauce, soy sauce, lemon juice, wine vinegar and brown sugar. Simmer in pot for 5 minutes. Arrange the tofu in a 9x13 baking dish or casserole. Pour the simmered sauce over the tofu (keep some aside for basting) and bake at 350F uncovered for one hour, basting occasionally.Not recommended for low-sodium diets.
