1 envelope Lipton's Onion Soup mix
6 cups flour
1 tsp. salt
2 1/2 c. lukewarm water
1 T melted margarine
2 pkgs. active yeast


How Do I Make Onion Bread?

Here is how you make Onion Bread:

In large bowl combine soup mix, 2 1/2 c.of the flour, salt. and yeast. Add melted margarine and 2 1/2 c. lukewarm (115 degree) water. Stir well. Add remaining flour, mix, and turn out onto floured board. Knead well for 3 minutes. Place into large greased bowl, turning dough so it is coated on all sides. Cover and allow dough to double (approx. 20 minutes). Punch dough hard with fist, then divide into two equal portions. Place in greased loaf pans, cover and allow to almost double (approx. 15 minutes). If you desire crusty top, brush dough with beaten egg mixed with a little water.
