Directions:Preheat broiler setting to high. Cut stem ends off tomatoes and cut each tomato into 2 thick slices. Place on broiler pan.Combine basil and pepper, and sprinkle a small amount onto each tomato slice. Slip tomatoes under hot broiler and broil for 2 minutes and remove. Add bread crumbs to olive oil and toss lightly with a fork. Add blue cheese and toss again lightly. Spoon atop tomato slices, and broil until crumbs are nicely browned – approximately 1-2 minutes.
