This is the way my mom made chili. It's very good, but feel free to add as much spiciness as you want. My mom's a wimp when it comes to spicy, lol. I also add minced garlic and sometimes green pepper.

1 lb. Ground Beef, 93% lean
1 40 oz can of Brooks Chili Beans (I use the hot ones)
2.5 14.5 oz. cans Roundy's Diced Tomatoes, No Salt Added
1 8 oz. can Tomato Sauce
1 6 oz. can Tomato Paste
4 large ribs of Celery, chopped
1 large Onion, chopped
6 medium Potatoes, peeled and cubed
1/2 cup Parsley, chopped
Salt to taste
Pepper to taste
Chili Powder to taste


How Do I Make Mom's Chili?

Here is how you make Mom's Chili:

Brown Ground Beef with chopped onion. Drain.Add Tomato Sauce, Tomato Paste, Parsley, and peeled and cubed potatoes.Cook until potatoes are soft. Stir every few minutes so it doesn't burn.Add Celery, Tomatoes, and Chili Beans.Add Salt, Pepper, Chili Powder, and whatever other spices you like.Cook approximately 15 mins. longer and you're done :)Makes 10 (1.5 cup) servings.Number of Servings: 10Recipe submitted by SparkPeople user JHENION.
