1 1/2 cups clams ( I used one can of wild clams)
1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes

Here is how you make McDonough style Clam Chowder:

Heat olive oil in large pot (about 6 qt size is good). Add onion, ginger root, garlic, celery, parsley, bell pepper and turmeric. Simmer over medium heat until tender. Add cabbage and simmer a little more. Add chopped Broccoli and clams. Add 3 cups water and then let simmer for at least 15 minutes. Add canned diced tomatoes. Do not add salt as there is enough salt in all the ingredients. Heat until all flavors are blended. Serve with your choice of side dish. Makes 4 large servings.
