Bacon, 6 slices, cooked (reserve bacon grease)
3 tsp of reserved bacon grease
Onions, raw, 1 cup, chopped
Celery, raw, 1 cup, diced
Green Peppers (bell peppers), 1 cup, chopped
Peppers, sweet, red, raw, chopped, 1 cup
Potato, raw, 2 medium, diced (I leave the skin on)
Spices as desired (I use garlic, along with some of my Epicure seasonings and spices)
Add water as needed for desired consistency

Cook bacon in a large soup pot, remove from heat and set aside, reserving 3 tsp of grease. Add grease, peppers, onions and celery to the bacon pot and saute until soft. Add potatoes and broth and simmer until potatoes are done. Crumble bacon and add it along with the corn and simmer until heated. At the last minute, add the milk and simmer on low until milk is hot (do not boil!).
