2 Tsp. margarine
1 large onion, chopped fine
1/2 lb. fresh mushrooms, chopped small
2 Tbsp. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. thyme
1/4 cup sour cream, reduced fat

Pastry:
8 oz. cream cheese, light
1/2 cup margarine
1 1/2 cups flour


How Do I Make Mushroom Turnovers?

Here is how you make Mushroom Turnovers:

Fry margerine, onion and mushrooms in a covered frying pan until onions are translucent and mushrooms have shrunk down. Add the flour, sour cream and all spices. Fry for a few more minutes until mixture is nice and thick. Set aside to cool. Make pastry by first belnding cream cheese and margerine together well, then adding flour gradually. Shape into balls and chill 1 hour or just roll it out and cut out 3¬inch round very thin and then fill with mixture. Fold over and prick with a fork. Then beat one egg and brush over top of turnovers. Bake at 450 F for no longer than 10 minutes. Watch closely.
