Slice the cucumber and onion into very thin slices. I find a mandolin slicer works best. Sprinkle with 1 tablespoon of salt and refrigerate for a half hour. While it's chilling mix the remaining ingredients in a small bowl. When the cucumbers a thoroughly chilled, rinse the salt off with cold water. The salt will draw out the moisture out of the cucumbers and make them very crisp.
