How Do I Make Bean and Bacon Soup w/ Kale?Here is how you make Bean and Bacon Soup w/ Kale: Heat bacon drippings over medium heat. Add onion and garlic and cook 6-7 minutes, till softened but not browned. Add beans and cook, stirring, for a minute or so, then add tomatoes and chicken broth (or water). Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce to a simmer and cook for about an hour, till beans are tender. Stir every 15 minutes or so, adding more water toward the end if the mixture starts to get too dry. Once beans are tender, stir in kale. Cook till leaves are wilted and tender, about 10 minutes. Stir in reserved bacon bits and serve.
