Depending on how much you want to make. I like it all week! You can add as many veges as you like. I add: 1 - 30 oz. can pinto beans, 1 - 30 oz can black beans, 1 lb finely chopped chicken or london broil, 2 or 3 slices of bacon, 1 chopped onion, chopped zucchinin, a small bunch of fresh chopped cilantro, small jar sliced jalenpenos with juice, as much as you can stand, I like it hot! Top with a couple crumbled tortilla chips and a couple of fresh advacado slices!

Here is how you make Bean Soup with a kick! WooHoo!:

You can cook your own Pinto and Black beans instead of canned. More prep time less sodium. Put canned beans in large saucepan on low heat. Cook bacon in non stick pan, put in chopped onion and zucchini. Add chicken or beef. Take out slightly crisp cooked bacon and chop into small pieces. Stir around mixture until meat is cooked through. Put half jar of jalepenos with juice into beans. Stir in cooked meat, onion, vege, bacon mixture. Stir in chopped cilantro. Heat for 10 more minutes and you have a southwest bean soup in less than 30 minutes! I add a couple crumbled tortilla chips and couple slices of advacado on top to make it pretty. I believe you can get at least 12 cup servings out of this. Usually it's gone so fast I don't have time to figure out if everyone is on seconds or thirds!
