Add 1 cup chopped onions to a large cooking pot on top of stove. Add 2 cups mushrooms stems & pieces. Add the contents of 1 can simple truth tri blend beans (low sodium). Add 4 cans of water to the pot. Turn heat to high. When water boils, add 1/2 cup pearled barley. Add 2 tsp parsley & 3 tsp basil. Add 1 Tbs garlic OR 3 cloves chopped. Add 1/4 tsp of cayenne pepper.

Cube 5 oz of chicken breast (cooked or raw) & add to liquid. The broth will cook the small pieces. Add 1/2 cube chicken bouillon. Add 1/4 cup diced bell pepper.

When the barley is soft, add the 1/2 head of cabbage to the pot. It should be cut into 2 inch squares. When the cabbage is just tender, serve the soup. Add cheese to each cup or bowl if you wish.
