4 large stalks of celery, split lengthwise then sliced
3/4 cup brown rice or your favorite kind of rice
3/4 brown lentils
1/2 tbsp thyme
1/2 tbsp marjoram
1 tsp ground black pepper
1/4 cup dry white wine
2 tbsp tamari
15 oz. can chick peas
15 oz. can dark red kidney beans
1/4 white miso paste


How Do I Make Vegetable Bean Medley Soup?

Here is how you make Vegetable Bean Medley Soup:

Heat oil. Add onions and saute until softened slightly. Add garlic and saute 1-2 minutes more. Add broth, water, celery, carrots, rice, lentils and herbs. Stir and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 40 minutes. Add wine and tamari, bring to a boil for 5 minutes then reduce heat and add beans. Heat through, then turn off heat and stir in miso until dissolved.
