In a Dutch oven, cook bacon to render fat. Remove and set aside bacon. Cook mirepoix until soft. Scape bottom of pot to remove fronds. Add thyme, oregano, bay leaf, salt. Add vegetable broth and 2 additional cups water. Blend about 1 cup beans with a little water. Add to pot. Add remaining beans with about 2 cups of water from beans. Bring to boil.
