In large pan put 4 c. broth, 4 c water and an envelope of onion soup mix. Bring to boil then turn down. Add beef (mine was leftover BBQ'd steak) and garlic. Use food processor to mince the celery, carrots, sweet potato and cabbage then add them and 1 c. of pearl barley.
