Here is how you make Broccoli and Chickpea Soup:

Heat the oil in a medium sized pot over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and saut? until caramelized. Stir in the garlic & cook until fragrant. Add seasonings and cook another 2 min.Add the broccoli, broth and salt and pepper to taste. Bring the soup to a simmer, cooking the broccoli to desired tenderness - I like mine tender crisp and still bright green.Remove from the heat and transfer the soup mixture to a high speed blender or food processor. Puree the soup in batches, adding the chickpeas a little at a time until smooth and creamy. Taste test and adjust seasonings to your liking. Add more broth to thin the soup if it is too thick. Serve warm and top with your favorite soup additions.
