1 can (13 3/4 ounces) chicken broth
1 1/2 cups fat free skim or lowfat milk, divided
4 cups washed and dried fresh spinach leaves

Here is how you make Shamrock Soup:

In a medium saucepan, saute onion, carrot until onion is softened.Add split peas, vegetable broth and half of milk. Bring to a boil, cover and reduce heat to low. Simmer 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until split peas are tender. Remove from heat; cool slightly.In blender or food processor, puree split pea mixture with spinach.Return mixture to saucepan.
