6 cups water
1 cup diced onion
1 cup diced parsnip
1 cup diced carrot
1 cup diced radish
1 cup diced celery
1/4 cup diced leek
2 sprigs fresh dill weed, finely chopped
2 sprigs fresh flat-leaf parsley, finely chopped
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tbsp kosher salt, or to taste
1/2 tsp black pepper, or to taste

Dice all veggies and put in large pot. Add dry green split peas to pot. Add broth and water. Stir to mix well. Bring to boil. Stir again, cover, lower heat and simmer for 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally. After 1 1/2 hours of simmering, add garlic powder, salt, pepper, parsley and dill.
