Sesame Oil 1/2 Cup Sliced Scallions Hot Chili Oil to taste How Do I Make Nadine's Hot and Sour Soup?Here is how you make Nadine's Hot and Sour Soup: Soak the dried mushrooms in hot water until tender. About 30 minutes. Discard the stems and thinly slice and reserve.In a medium soup pot heat the peanut oil and saute the minced garlic, ginger and pepper flakes about 2 minutes.Add the Chicken stock and reserved mushrooms and simmer for 30 minutes. Add the pork and bamboo shoots and stir. In a small bowl combine the cornstarch and rice vinegar and stir until smooth. Whisk the cornstarch mixture into the hot soup and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for 5 minutes. Add the soy sauce and sesame oil. Serve and garnish with sliced scalions and drizzle with hot chili oil to taste.
