2 medium potatoes, cubed

Here is how you make Asparagus Lentil Soup:

Makes 6 two cup servings*Put 6 cups water in large soup pot and bring to a boil.*Add the lentils, chicken base, pepper, butter, garlic, fresh thyme, and diced jalapeno peppers. Turn down heat to low/simmer for one hour, mixing occasionally.*Add cut up asparagus, bring to a boil for 5 minutes, then turn heat to medium, and cook for 25 more minutes stirring occasionally.*Add onions, potatoes, celery and carrots, Turn heat to med-low and cook for one and half more hours.
