Here is how you make Curried Carrot, Yam, Lentil Soup:

Add everything but the coconut milk to the slow cooker in layers ~ onions, carrots, yams, lentils, ginger, curry powder, broth. Cover & cook on Low setting for 6-8hours. Check the doneness of the lentils before proceeding further. When lentils are cooked, use a hand mixer/blender to puree ingredients, right in the slow cooker. When blended to the consistency you prefer (some like a bit of texture), add coconut milk & mix well. Turn slow cooker to Warm setting to allow the coconut milk to warm up & blend with all of the other flavours.
