In a large saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook for about 5 minutes until it's soft. Add the mushrooms and oregano and cook. stirring regularly for 2 minutes until the mushrooms soften. Add the broth and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to low, cover partially and simmer for about 20 minutes. Let soup cool then transfer it to a blender or food processor and blend until smith.
