~ Garlic, 4 cloves
~ Garlic powder, 1 tbsp

How Do I Make Shannon's Split Pea Soup?

Here is how you make Shannon's Split Pea Soup:

Add broth, water, and peas to a large pot and heat on Medium Hi heat. Meanwhile finely chop garlic and onion and place in a pan over medium heat. Add diced Salt Pork and sautee until pork is cooked and onions start to brown slightly. De glaze frying pan with wine and cook off alcohol for apx. 40 seconds. Add pork mixture and drippings into the pot with the peas as well as teh garlic powder, garlic salt, and pepper. Cook over medium heat for apx 1 hour or until the peas are tender to your liking.
