Here is how you make Homestyle Baked Potato Soup:

In large stockpot, melt 2 sticks of butter. Then add flour to thicken. Slowly stir in 12 cups of milk and bring to a simmer. Cut open the baked potatoes and remove the potato from the skin. Add all of the potato pulp to the soup.Add the cooked, crumbled bacon to the soup. Then, add all of the shredded cheese and stir until smooth. Simmer all ingredients for 30 minutes. If desired, you can transfer the soup to a crock pot set on warm to keep it warm and smooth until ready to serve.
