Here is how you make Sweet Potato-Pear Soup:

In a large saucepan, heat oil over medium heat. Add onion and celery and cook for about 10 minutes, or until soft but not browned. Add sweet potatoes, pears, chicken broth, vermouth, cinnamon stick, orange zest, and thyme. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer covered for 35-45 minutes or until sweet potatoes are tender. Remove the cinnamon stick and puree the vegetable mixture in a food processor. Return the puree to the saucepan and stir in the nutmeg and pepper. Cook over medium heat until, heated through.
