Here is how you make Zumma Borscht (potato soup):

In stock pot add water and peeled sausage (to remove casing run frozen sausage under hot water for 10 sec score and peel). Cook for 1/2 hour making sure to skim the water for any fat. After 20 minutes of cooking add diced onion, dill, ground pepper and salt. (I often use a spice ball for the peppercorns and dill if I decide to use fresh dill) Simmer. This is when I prepare the potatoes and then add them to the pot. Cook potatoes until done. Remove from burner and add your sour cream.
