Start your rice cooking as per directions, but take off about 3 minutes from the cooking time. Steam the broccoli, while your carrots start simmering in the broth (1 cup), diluted with 1 cup of water. When the carrots are as crunchy/mushy as you like them, add the rice, and stir in the broccoli when you are ready to serve.
