Roast garlic at 375 degrees for 35-45 minutes. Let cool and squeeze garlic into small bowl. Roast asparagus at 375 degrees for 15 minutes. Heat olive oil in soup pot. Cut onion into large chunks (no need to mince, it'll all get pureed later) and cook in oil until soft. Add all the other ingredients including roasted garlic and asparagus. Let the soup come to a boil, then simmer for 30 minutes or so. Let cool for a bit, then puree in batches in a blender. Strain through sieve into another pot. Heat and serve.
