Sayte' sausage, onion, and garlic in a Dutch oven. Add fennel and red pepper flakes and stir. Stir in soup base and dry lentils and toss until everything is coated. Add water. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 30 to 45 mins. or until lentils are tender. Add spinach and cook an additional 10minutes to heat through.
