Heat the oil in a small pot. Saute mushrooms a few minutes. Add the water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low and add the green onions and tamari. Reduce heat and simmer while you remove about 1/4 cup hot liquid from the pot to a small bowl. Add the miso to the bowl, blend well and pour back into the pot, being careful not to boil. Add the tofu and serve hot. Rice or other vegetables may be added.
