Green Bell Pepper, diced How Do I Make Kale and Cabbage Vegetable Soup?Here is how you make Kale and Cabbage Vegetable Soup: Dice, cut, or chop all solid ingredients to your liking. Saute cut onion, pepper, and garlic with about 1/2 cup of chicken broth on medium heat until vegetables are medium soft (usually about 6 minutes if diced). Stir regularly. Add cut celery and cabbage with another 1/2 cup chicken broth to the pot. Cook for about 10 mintues, stirring every 2 minutes. Add rest of chicken broth and beef broth and bring to a boil. Add cut kale, tomato sauce, and stewed tomatoes (you can chop the stewed tomatoes before hand if you like). Bring to a boil again then simmer on medium low for about 45 minutes. Stir every 10 minutes or so. Turn heat to low and add garbanzo beans (rinsed), stir. Season with 1 tsp pepper. There should already be enough salt from the canned items and broth but season as you like. Leave to simmer on low for another 30 minutes if you like or eat right away (the canned garbanzo beans are pre-cooked already and just need to be heated). This recipe is easily tweeked to your preferences. Add other veggies or seasonings to make it your own.
