The ingredients for Bean Casserole are:

1 can yellow beans, 1 can green beans, 1 can kidney beans, 2 cans brown beans, 1 can chick peas, 1 lb sausage, 1lb bacon, 1 can tomato paste (6oz), 1 can tomato soup, 1/2 cup water, 1 tbsp dry mustard, 2 tbsp chili powder, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1 onion chopped, 2 stalks celery chopped.


How Do I Make Bean Casserole?

Here is how you make Bean Casserole:

Fry sausage until cooked. Saute onions and celery and add to sausage. In small saucepan add 10 oz can tomato soup, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup water, dry mustard and chili powder, heat on med. until sauce comes to a low boil. Open all cans of beans, rinse chick peas & kidney beans, and to a large roast pan. Mix in tomato soup sauce and cooked sausage and veggies. Cover top of casserole with 1lb of bacon, and spread can of tomato paste over all.To make this recipe more lean, I would use lean sausage, and chicken or turkey bacon, there is also splenda brown sugar that can be used.Number of Servings: 12Recipe submitted by SparkPeople user WITTYGIRL2.
