Here is how you make Cuban Black Beans w/ Sausage:

Soak beans overnight or for 6 hours or place beans in pot with water and bring to a boil for one minute. Turn off heat, cover the pan, soak beans for one hour. After, discard soaking water and begin cooking as soon as possible. Heat skillet over med-high heat. Add sausage, onion, bell pepper, garlic and jalapeno pepper. Cook, stirring for 3 minutes. Reduce heat to low. Stir in cumin and coriander and cook one minute. Place all with beans and broth into a slow cooker. Cook soup for 8 to 10 hours on low or 4 to 5 hours on high.
