2 tsp Turmeric
2tsp Garam Masala
1/4 tsp cardamom seeds or 3-4 slightly cracked cardamom pods
4-5 Bay leaves.

Put Ground Beef (or soy crumbles, etc) and onion-(if you are not using ground beef or lamb, you should add the oil now as well.) Grind peppers, garlic and ginger in a food processor. Add to crock-pot. Pour the boiling water over tomato paste and whisk to dissolve. Add to the crock-pot along with all of the remaining ingredients except the cilantro and peas. Cook for 3 hours on high. Add peas and continue to cook for 1/2 hour. Add cilantro at the end.
