How Do I Make Rolled Cabbage/Malfoof?Here is how you make Rolled Cabbage/Malfoof: Soak rice 30 mins. Drain and rinse.Quarter the cabbage and core it. Put 1-2 quarters at a time in large pot with boiling water. Separate cabbage leaves. Remove and repeat until all leaves have been boiled.Combine rice, meat, oil, salt and Arabic spices.Remove the large vein from the middle of each cabbage leaf. Place the veins inthe bottom of a large pot (this way, if anything burns, it is the vein and nothingelse).Cut larger leaves in half.Place 1 to 1 1/2 T of meat/rice mixture between two of the smaller veins on acabbage leaf a little ways up from the bottom. Roll the bottom of the leaf over themeat mixture. Continue rolling until the leaf is completely wrapped around themixture. Place in pot on top of veins. Add cloves of garlic to the middle and top of pot.Repeat above until all leaves are gone or until the meat mixture is gone or untilthe pot is ¾ full (either continue with another pot or save the rest for anothertime).Add water to the pot until it is visible between the rolled leaves in the top layer,but do not cover completely. Sprinkle with cumin (this helps reduce the gas producingproperties of the cabbage) and salt.Bring to a boil. Reduce heat until water is simmering.
