Melt margarine in large saucepan over medium low heat. Add onions and cook for about 3 minutes, stirring frequently. Add broth, milk and macaroni, stirring occasionally. Bring to a boil. Boil on medium heat, stirring, for about 6 minutes, or until tender but still firm.In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with water. Add to macaroni, stir and bring to a boil, about 1 minute. Add ham. Mix well, remove from heat.
