This is the result of forty-nine years of trial trying to come up with a chili that everyone liked. I use S&W Chili Beans because I like their taste. Same with Gebhardts Chili Powder. The rest is pretty much personal taste. More celery, less onions, your option. Same with the spices. 5 lbs ground beef should give you 7 or 8 meals, depending on appetites. Worchestershire Sauce 5 cups Yellow Onions, chopped 3 cups Celery, chopped 10 15-oz cans S&W Chili Beans 2 15-oz cans Tomato Sauce 3 to 4 Tbsp. Gebhardts Chili Powder 1 to 2 Tsp. Tobasco Sauce 1 to 2 Tbsp. Cumin, ground 30 grinds of fresh Black Pepper 2 to 3 Tsp. Salt 1 cube Margarine 1/4 cup Splenda (or Sugar) (Optional) How Do I Make Lawana's Chili w/ Beans?Here is how you make Lawana's Chili w/ Beans: Sprinkle salt on bottom of 16-qt stainless steel kettle and heat on Medium-high. Add ground beef and brown, breaking up into small pieces. (potato masher works very well). Add worchestershire sauce, chili powder, cumin and tobasco sauce. Add celery and onions. When meat is no longer pink, add chili beans, tomato sauce, margarine, Splenda and black pepper. Simmer until celery and onions are cooked. Adjust seasonings if desired.
