How Do I Make Coffee Crusted Steaks with Coffee Glaze?

Here is how you make Coffee Crusted Steaks with Coffee Glaze:

Cut roasting meat into 3/4 inch thick slices if you do not have pre-cut steak meat. You can get between 3 and 4 steaks out of a one pound roast depending on how thick you slice. Dietary measurements for this recipe are based on 4 slices. Generously coat each side of each steak with coarsely ground coffee (you may wish to mix coarsely ground pepper in with the coffee before coating - adds a nice flavor).Sear on medium high 6-9 minutes per side in a frying pan depending on preference for doneness. While the steak is cooking, brew coffee if you haven't already - it doesn't need to be hot, but it should be reasonably fresh. Coffee should be strong - I prefer to use a french press. Mix one cup coffee with one tablespoon Worcestershire sauce. When the steaks are done, remove to a foil lined pan and pop into the oven at 200 degrees to keep warm while you finish the sauce. In the same pan, add the coffee mixture to the drippings and mix thoroughly. Continuing to mix, reduce mixture by half (takes less than 5 minutes). Plate steaks and serve with reduced coffee glaze.Number of Servings: 4Recipe submitted by SparkPeople user CAITY2005.
