1.3 lb ground beef 85% lean
2.5 c whole wheat elbows
1 28oz can crushed tomatoes ( check label for sodium-crushed usually have less sodium that sauce, puree, etc)
1 14.5 oz can stewed tomatoes no salt added
1 8oz can tomato sauce no salt added
1 c. chopped onions
2 carrots finely diced or shredded
1/2 large green bell pepper diced
4 large baby bella mushrooms sliced/chopped
1 Tbsp minced garlic
about 5 grinds black pepper
a few shakes smoked or regular paprika

Here is how you make Hermit Goulash:

brown beef in non stick skillet, drain fatadd onions, peppers, carrots and mushrooms and cook.Add garlic and cook for about a minute until fragrant (don't burn), then add in tomatoes. Add black pepper and paprika. Stir, cover and simmer.Meanwhile cook elbow macaroni, drain and add to skillet. If desired throw in a cup of frozen peas and let them heat up.
