What Are The Ingredients For Grandma's Goulash Recipe?The ingredients for Grandma's Goulash are: 3 slices turkey bacon1/2 cup chopped onion 1/2 cup chopped celery (optional) 1 lb. lean ground beef (may substitute ground turkey) 2 cans stewed tomatoes (original flavor) 1 can tomato sauce 1 can red kidney beans (drain juice) 8 oz cooked regular or whole wheat elbow macaroni salt and pepper to taste 1/2 cup water to sauce while simmering How Do I Make Grandma's Goulash?Here is how you make Grandma's Goulash: Boil water and cook elbow macaroni according to directions until 'al dente'. Drain, rinse and set aside to cool for later.Chop onion, celery and bacon into small pieces. Saute bacon and onion in a nonstick 4 quart saucepan (sprayed with pam) until onion is translucent. Add ground beef and brown until there is no pink left.Add both cans of stewed tomatoes, the can of tomato sauce, and the can of drained red kidney beans. Salt and pepper to taste.Add about 1/2 cup water to sauce.Simmer sauce at med-low heat for 10-20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add elbow macaroni and stir well until sauce is evenly distributed.
