3 large fresh eggs
3 C heavy whipping cream
8 oz diced ham (any size/shape will do, but I prefer the small dice from Hormel)
9 oz Swiss cheese (grated, very good grade/brand of cheese is best!)
Optional: one bunch of diced scallion, 8 oz cooked mushrooms
Pepper to taste (no salt, there is salt in the cheese and ham)

Here is how you make Divine Ham and Swiss Quiche:

In the caserole dish you are going to bake the quiche in (this recipe makes a thick, deep-pan style quiche) you can mix almost all of the ingredients as they are ready to go.1. Add diced ham.2. Add diced scallion.3. Add grated Swiss cheese. 4. Cook mushrooms. Start by adding some water to them in a cooking pan and keep them 'wet' until they are almost done, then cook until the water is evaporated and they are the consistency/texture you prefer. You can also add them raw if you prefer.5. Add mushrooms to other ingredients in caserole dish.6. Add pepper to taste. I like a lot!7. Mix ingredients well.6. Combine eggs and cream. Pour mixture over ingredients in the caserole dish.7. Using a fork or knife, stir the mixture gently to ensure all ingredients are coated and evenly distributed.It is not necessary to coat the caserole and it is not necessary to use or make a crust. This is perfect as is!Bake in the oven at 375 for at least 40 minutes. Cover the top with foil or a lid if it is getting too browned. A thicker quiche may take longer to cook.Enjoy hot or cold!
