Whole wheat lasagna noodles
1 tomato
1 small onion
half a clove of garlic
1 pound of italian sausage
extra virgin olive oil
low fat ricotta cheese (3 cups)
2 frozen packages of spinach
1 large can of tomato sauce
1 cup of cheddar
1 cup of mozzerella


How Do I Make Italian Lasagna?

Here is how you make Italian Lasagna:

Begin to boil lasagna noodles in a large pot. Be sure to add salt to the water to prevent the noodles from sticking. While that is boiling ina large skillet pour a little olive oil along with chopped onions, garlic, and tomato. When browned add italian sausage and allow that to brown as well.After sausage is cooked add 1 package of spinach (drained) and the large can of tomato sauce. Season as neccesary with salt, pepper, oregano, or any other italian seasonings. Allow sauce to simmer for a few minutes. While sauce is simmering in a large bowl mix the other package of spinach along with the ricotta cheese. Also mix in garlic powder, seasonings, and have of the cheddar and mozzerella cheese.The noodles should not be all the way soft they should be cooked until they are aldente and a little rubbery to prevent them from sticking together. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.Add a little olive oil to the bottom of a large baking dish. Then begin layering lasagna noodles. There should be a layer of noodles and then a layer of the ricotta mixture. Followed by a layer of noodles and a layer of sauce. Continue this pattern until only one layer of noodles remains and then top with the remaining sauce. Then top with the remaining cheese. You may also add any additional seasonings as you see needed.
