16 oz Beef, ground, 80% lean meat / 20% fat, patty, cooked, broiled [hamburger, ground round]
8 oz Veal, ground
8 oz Pork, fresh, ground, raw
4 slice Bread, wheat (including toast)

1 serving 1 Med. Green Bell Pepper
1.5 tsp Garlic
2 1tsp Olive Oil

4 tbsp Chili Sauce (Heinz) (by FRENCH.)
3 tsp Grey Poupon Dijon Mustard
.25 cup Parsley
1 tsp Salt

How Do I Make Nana's Meat Loaf?

Here is how you make Nana's Meat Loaf:

Tear bread (3-4 slices) into small bits. Saute onion & pepper (green or red) in 2 tsp. olive oil, add garlic & saute a bit more, till veggies are soft. Warm milk in a sauce pan and add bread bits. Wash hands thoroughly. In a very large bowl combine meats, veggies, milk & bread, chili sauce, seasonings & Worcestershire sauce ... that is everything but the last 1/2 cup chili sauce. I mix by hand ... easiest ... but you could use a spoon. Oil a bread or meatloaf pan. Gather the mixture together to form a "loaf". Put in pan and spread a bit of vegetable or olive oil on top, which helps it brown nicely. Then spread the last 1/2 cup chili sauce on top. If there is room pour some water or broth around the sides to keep it moist .. tho it isn't really necessary. Bake at 350 degrees F for 1 to 1.5 hours.Serving Size: Makes 8 average servings, 6 large ones.Number of Servings: 8Recipe submitted by SparkPeople user KATHIESHERMAN.
