What Are The Ingredients For Moussaka Recipe?The ingredients for Moussaka are: 2 Large Eggplant (thinly sliced)5 Tbs Olive Oil 1 3/8 lb Lean Ground Beef 1 Onion (chopped) 2 Cloves Garlic (minced) 2 large Tomatoes (fresh) 1/2 Cup dry white wine 3 Tbsp Chopped Fresh Parsley 3 Tbsp Fresh Bread Crumbs 2 Egg (whites) TOPPING 3 Tbsp Butter 1/3 Cup All-Purpose Flour 1 2/3 Cups Milk 3/8 tsp Freshly grated Nutmeg 1 1/4 Cups Feta Cheese 2 Egg Yolk q Egg How Do I Make Moussaka?Here is how you make Moussaka: 1. Layer the eggplant in a colander, sprinkle each layer with salt. Drain over a sink for 20 minutes, then rinse the salt off thoroughly and pat dry with kitchen paper.2. Preheat the oven to 275 degrees F. Spread out the eggplant in a roasting dish. Brush them with olive oil, then bake for 10 minutes or until just softened. Remove and cool. Leave the oven on.3. make the meat sauce. Heat the olive oil in a large pan and brown the minced beef, stirring frequently. When the meat is no longer pink and looks crumbly, add onion and garlic, and cook for 5 minutes.4 Add the chopped fresh tomatoes to the pan and stir in the wine. Season with plenty of salt and pepper to taste.5. Bring to boil, then lower the heat, cover and simmer for 15 minutes. Remove the pan from the heat, leave to cool for about 10 minutes, then stir in the chopped parsley, fresh bread crumbs and egg whites.6.Lightly grease a large baking dish, then spread out half the sliced eggplant in an even layer on the base. Spoon over the meat sauce, spread it evenly, then top with the remaining eggplant.7. To make the topping, put the butter, flout and milk in a pan. Bring to a boil over a low heat, whisking all the time until the mixture thickens to form a smooth, creamy sauce. Lower the heat and simmer for 2 minutes. Remove the pan from the heat, season, then stir in the nutmeg and half the cheese.8. Cool for 5 minutes, then beat in the egg yolks and the whole egg. Pour the sauce over the eggplant topping and sprinkle with the remaining cheese. Bake for 30-40 minutes or until golden brown.
