1/4 c. thinly sliced yellow onion
1/8 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 (8oz.) pkg sliced mushrooms
1 1/2 tsp. flour
1/4 c. dark beer
8 slices rye bread
4 slices reduced-fat provolone cheese


How Do I Make Mushroom and Provolone Patty Melt?

Here is how you make Mushroom and Provolone Patty Melt:

Heat large non-stick skillet over med.-high heat. Shape beef into 4 patties. Coat pan w/ cooking spray. Add patties and cook for 4 min. on each side until done.Heat oil in med. skillet over med.-high heat. Add onion, salt, pepper, and mushrooms. Saute 3 min. Sprinkle flour over mushroom mixture. Cook 1 min. Stirring constantly. Stir in beer; cook 30 seconds or until thick. Remove from heat but keep warm.Remove patties from pan and wipe pan clean. Heat pan again over med.-high heat. Coat 1 side of each slice of bread w/ cooking spray. Place 4 slices of bread in pan. Top w/1 patty, 1 cheese slice, and 1/4 mushroom mixture. Top w/ remaining bread. Cook 2 min. on each side.
