3 cups chopped broccoli
1 onion, diced

1/2 cup half-and-half
8 oz ziti or penne
1 T. Fresh sage
1/2 t. thyme
1/4 t. cinnamon
1/4 t. cayenne
salt and pepper
3/4 cup mozzarella, grated

Here is how you make Sausage and Pumpkin Pasta:

Boil water for broccoli.Brown sausage in oil. Remove from pan and slice. Add onions and garlic and cook until soft. Return sliced sausage to pan and heat through. Remove sausage and onions. Scoop broccoli with a slotted spoon into skillet, using water to scrape up any caramelized bits. Add the pumpkin and half-and-half. Stir together. Add the spices. Season well.Cook the penne (or ziti) in the broccoli water.Add the sausage back to pumpkin/broccoli. Add the pasta, when cooked.
