Here is how you make Pork Shoulder BBQ pulled-pork:

Spread half of the chopped onion on the bottom of the crockpot. Add the shoulder roast and spread remaining onions over roast. Finally add a bottle of beer (or ginger ale). Cook on low for 8 hours.After 8 hours, remove roast and onions and set aside. Discard all of the remaining liquid in the crock pot. Shred the pork and return it to the crock pot along with the onions.
