Lay the quartered onion in the bottom of the crockpot. Salt and pepper the pork (this is a lot of meat!) and then place the pork on top of the onions. Pour the entire can of peppers in with the sauce, then pour the soda and the brown sugar. Stir together the liquids as best as you can. Cook on low for closer to 8 hours since it isn't as hot as the oven would be. Test the pork to see if it falls apart with a fork, if not cook longer.
