1 bag dry small red beans (washed and soaked) (16 oz)
1 large onions, chopped
1 bell pepper, chopped
5 stalks celery, chopped
ham, chopped (may also add smoked sausage if desired - but will alter nutritional info)
2 tsp. thyme, ground
2 bay leaves
hot sauce to taste (optional)
5 garlic cloves, minces or crushed
4 tsp worcestershire sauce (or to taste)
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
Creole seasoning to taste
2 cups cooked brown rice



How Do I Make Louisiana Red Beans and Rice?

Here is how you make Louisiana Red Beans and Rice:

Rinse and sort beans in a large pot. Add 2 cups of cold water and soak over night at least 6-8 hrs.Drain soak water and rinse beans. Cover with water and boil 45-60 min. or until tender. Drain. While beans are boiling, saute onions in hot oil until translucent. Add celery, pepper, and garlic. Saute for 2 more min., stirring occasionally. Add the sauted vegetables tot he cooked and drinaed beans, ham, (sausage), and seasonings and just enough water to cover.
